Rockschool Examinations
We host guitar, bass, drum, piano & vocal examinations for Rockschool. If you are taking a Rockschool exam then here are a couple of things to think about before setting off:
Check you have your book and CD before setting out! Whilst
the examiners normally have a copy of the set pieces, they do not
carry spare books with them and this can result in a fail.
If you have a free choice piece, try playing it in the car CD player
on the way, it would be unfortunate if you got to the exam centre to
find that your CD contains an MP3 and not audio (this has happened
on more than one occasion!)
You do not need to bring a guitar /bass amp unless you really feel
that it is essential to your performance, remember time spent
setting your equipment up is taken out of your exam time, so
simplicity is the key.
Please note that we cannot provide information on the exams
themselves or make any administrative changes regarding the
Rockschool process.
Examination results are normally within two weeks of the exam.
We do have limited parking at Standingford House, though it can get busy depending on how many candidates set off early.
Parents and guardians are welcome to wait and make use of our sofa and relax with a cup of tea or coffee.
